Normally, the parasites like to jump onto others' faces to latch on and connect with their victim's nervous systems (they just want to play). How cute! The Headcrabs offered here are also capable of this because they have the aforementioned opening on the underside... but as I said... they don't do anything!
You've probably already realized that storing such aggressive aliens isn't really easy. But Half-Life 2 also taught us how to make Headcrabs, well, tamer.
Dr. Kleiner tested it on the female Headcrab "Hedy Lamarr" and we simply copied him. Yep, we simply castrated them all. The result? The Headcrabs in our storage have become really very tame. They are sweet. And they have a new need. They just want to cuddle all day long... Too bad that they will soon cuddle us to death... (they just want to play).
So now it's up to you. Only you can save us by adopting a Headcrab.
